I was happy to hear that some people are excited about a third quotient book! Thanks for indulging my hobby by reading along with Jack and Sarah and the gang at Quotient.
The third book is a prequel. It tells the story of how Quotient became Quotient, and provides some background on how the team became who they are in 2028-2029. One interesting aspect of being a prequel is that it is the first novel that is set in the past instead of the future. The working title is Quantum Launch, emphasizing the launch of Quotient as an agency, and foreshadowing the launch of TARDIS.
This book will dive into some of the more philosophical questions around AI. I’m not ready to give away any details yet, but suffice it to say, there are many thorny questions to be dealt with. I’ve had to learn some philosophy to get started!
Of course, it features places I’ve been, so look for a few new places in the world to be featured. (sorry, no Poland yet, Piotr!)
